Better Bedford Supper Club

Dear Supporters and Fellow Diners,

A Happy New Year to you all and an invitation to enjoy a meal in congenial company and a presentation on another local project, as yet largely unseen!

In most months Better Bedford holds a supper club to encourage and inform members and supporters, and to raise funds. The evening is not one of political debate or heavy campaigning and is intended to be a convivial evening in good surroundings with a healthy input of local matters. A 2 course meal and coffee followed by a talk on a topic of local interest by an invited speaker.

This month. ‘The Place and its theatricals’- Guest speaker – Rae Levene, Managing Partner of the Bedford firm of solicitors Park Woodfine Heald Mellows LLP and Trustee of Bedford Players Trust

Monday 16 May 2011 at the Bedford Golf Club, Carnoustie Drive, Great Denham Golf Village, Biddenham  MK40 4FF(take A428 to The Branston Way, 1st left Kingswood Way, 1st left Carnoustie Drive)
7.30pm for 8.00 pm. Price: £17.50 per head (beers, wines and spirits not included). 40 places available so ‘first-come, first-served’

Update: from Borough Hall by an independent councillor. Raffle: Donations of prizes would be very much appreciated.

Please email or telephone numbers attending by by by Thursday 12 May 2011 at the latest, with your choice of dishes from a 2-course menu.

Main Course:
1. Braised lamb cutlets
2. Pan fried chicken breast with a sweet pepper glaze
3. Warm broccoli and stilton quiche
- all the above are served with dauphinoise and new potatoes, baton carrots and cauliflower
Dessert:
1. Dutch apple tart with vanilla custard
2. Mixed melon and strawberry cocktail
3. Cheese platter

All bookings will be acknowledged, so if you do not hear from me promptly, please contact me – we have found that emails are not infallible!

The Golf Club charges for the number of bookings made so cancellations must be received by me at least 48 hours before the meal: otherwise bookings must be paid for.
